and your beautiful otherness

Medicine, law, business, engineering, those are noble persuits. And necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love. These are what we stay alive for.

When maxis made the OG SC4 terrains w/ tree’s, I’m sure they were thinking of of us and that they’d be saving us time by placing the trees for us. 8 EPs of neighborhood trees and 16 years later… thanks, we hate it! But almost every forum that asks if you can mass delete trees in neighborhood view simply says no, you have to delete every single tree yourself. This can be thousands and  thousands of trees and various nature that we have to delete because of an oversight that makes the spots that say “spawn trees here” spawn literally any object in your nature category (ever wonder why the lakes spawn in-between your trees all clumped together with no rhyme or reason? That’s why! They techinically considered a tree by the game! :D)

Until today, some of the SC4Terrains were practically unusable because of the awful trees. I have edited the SC4Terrains so that the 8 templates that use trees now are completely clean! Not like your sims needed that oxygen anyway… Now you have a say in what trees go where! If you want Briney Fjord to be a nice desert canyon, you don’t have to delete 5000+ pine trees!

Installation Instructions- Either drag and drop or extract the zip into your Documents\EA Games\The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection\SC4Terrains folder and let it replace the old files!

Download it here!

And if you’d like a reference for what the terrains look like so you can plan out your next hood, check out my other post here documenting it!

Fresh from the ol’ sketchbook, it’s “horrible melty-face” Armand, here to brighten your day!

For those who don’t get the reference, Armand is described by Lestat in “The Vampire Lestat” as having a distinctly awful–but also rather funny–face when enraged, as though he were “melting from within.”

i haven’t read the vampire chronicles yet but i find it hilarious how whenever you talk to a fan they’re always like “yeah it started off pretty good but some of the books just go completely off the rails” and you’re like “oh, like the one where the main centuries-old vampire chooses to deal with his existential crisis and angst by becoming a goth rockstar?” and then they’re like “no that’s one of the good ones”
